On Friday 17 June, Future Materials took place. This event combined the final symposium of Light.Touch.Matters with the inaugural lecture of LTM consortium member Prof. Kaspar Jansen on Emerging Materials.

More than 150 (inter)national visitors came to the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of TU Delft to attend the symposium and lecture. They witnessed project coordinator Erik Tempelman closing Light.Touch.Matters assisted by some of the consortium partners illustrating the different aspects of this unique project: Eric Biermann [VanBerlo] showed the steps in the development of the prototypes, Pim Groen [NovAM/TNO] explained more about flexible and transparent OLEDs. Innovation expert Roberto Verganti [PoliMi] closed the session with a reflection on the design process. Special thanks were reserved to IDE faculty Dean Ena Voût and European Commission representative Guy Baret.

In the central hall of the faculty, the exhibition of the design projects gained much attention with its working prototypes. Find an exhaustive overview of the design projects in the dedicated results section here or have a look at the design guidelines.

The symposium was streamed live, and can be looked back here.
